Behind the Scenes: It's no laughing matter, fellas!

Longer-term followers of Shadow Laughter will appreciate that there are various strands to our work, including; the regular narrative episodes; recently-developed short animated sequences; referencing titles, and also the graphic trailers.

Some might say that on a week-to-week basis, there's not that much laughter in Shadow Laughter.  Well, it's true that we do deal with largely serious themes of mystery, menace and manipulation.  However, if you look more closely, there is a kind of humour that pervades our modus operandi.  For example, here we have a moment from 'You don't know how lucky you are, boy!', in which violent persuasion between our two protagonists is comically contrasted with the tiresome impatience of the Eastern-bloc femme fatale:

Well, we thought it was funny.  Humour also features in our titles and trailers, in which there are different approaches taken to advertising the forthcoming episodes.  Sometimes it's a question of a pun which references Thursday's subject, like this one, below, in advance of our homage to the classic scene in North by Northwest.

At other times, the graphic approach itself can have a fun element, as in this example, below.

Some time ago, following the release of the Bond movie, Skyfall, we worked up this movie poster graphic, using an image from our catalogue and some spoof names.

Recently, we thought we would return to this under-developed strand of our ouevre, and so spoof movie posters have become the subject of our current episode.

Font-tastic!

Stay tuned, and join the adventure!
