Shadow Laughter is a collaboration between artists Hamish Marr and Martin Pearson. They exploit the visual language of film noir to create scenarios of mystery and intrigue. These scenarios are populated by a range of characters portrayed by the artists and occasionally by others. Episodes go out on facebook on a Thursday evening, and on this blog on a Friday. 'Viewers' are invited to leave comments which may influence or direct the forthcoming episodes. Join the adventure!

Behind the Scenes: A Spectre Calls!
How many of you are onto this week's title? It's a reference to 'spooks', spies, men who aren't quite there... In our making of this episode, there was a reminder that the bad guys in the spy tv show, 'The Man from U.N.C.L.E.' worked for SPECTRE. There are often linguistic links and connections in our themes, and they unearth themselves as we go along.
Our spooks are real shady characters. Quite literally, they are disappearing (or appearing) before your very eyes. Half-present, melting away, shadowy...
The use of multiple exposures really helped to get our ideas over.
Keep looking over your shoulder, maybe you're being spooked right now! More spooks in Monday's final instalment...
Stay tuned, and join the adventure!
